lets just get up to speed real quick. finished the spring 2021 semester in tact and got a summer job teaching kids arts and crafts at a local boys&girls club

it was one of the most grueling experiences of my entire life. taught kids from ages 5-8. watched way too much boss baby. it was rough. treat your teachers kindly.

had a mental breakdown partway into summer and switched majors to art education. yay! im in hell

its actually not so bad so far.

in my last entry i said i was finishing breaking bad and serial experiments lain. well i did and confidently: theyre two of the greatest tv shows of all time

gonna tackle NGE and its movies next. also rewatching LOTR for some reason

still drawing, still thinking bout making stuff and not making it

heres an anecdote

at my childhood home i had an elderly neighbor named Mr. Schmidt. He had an insanely beautiful garden that he'd devoted his life and retirement to. I can't say

how old he was but when I'd moved there at 6 or 7 he'd spent decades nurturing it. One time he caught me taking pictures of his flowers on my flip phone

and invited me to see the ones in his backyard. His front garden was beautiful but the man had a literal garden of eden he'd been growing in his backyard.

so many colors and varieties of well loved local and exotic plants, and he was so happy some kid was interested. I remember him talking my ear off for 30 minutes

about his plants. He also had this little yappy dog he adored, it was his whole life. Named Isis. Yea, kind of unfortunate. It's greek.

He died 5 or 6 years ago and his kids and grandkids all moved his stuff out. One of them took the dog I think.

The house was bought immediately... and a fraternity moved in. It was a nightmare. We lived on a quiet street, pretty much a neighborhood full of elderly people.

They got drunk and had loud parties in the backyard every chance they could. I'm a heavy sleeper but it kept me up allll the time. Even went out back and told them to shut up once.

But the worst part is what they did to that poor garden. Oh, it was criminal. Tore up everything in the front leaving just the dirt-filled flowerbeds and a Delta Kappa Whatever flag.

The backyard was bare too, I guess to make room for a ratty old couch and beer pong table. Mr. Schmidt spent his life growing flowers and in less than a month they

were all uprooted by some drunken future football coaches.

There's a nice family living there now. Late 20's or early 30's with kids and little yappy dogs. They have some flowers in the front now.

I think Mr. Schmidt would've liked them much better.

heres some drawings by me

have a good day
